HB Ticket Exchange - Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how HB Ticket Exchange ("HBTE", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares your information when you use our website at hbtix.com, mobile application, or any associated content or services (the "HBTE Platform"). By using the HBTE Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect several types of information from and about users of our HBTE Platform:
1.1. Information You Provide to Us:
- Account Information: When you create an account, you provide us with your email address and a chosen username/display name.
- Profile Information: You may choose to provide additional information for your profile, such as your Discord username, or to link your Patreon account (by providing your Patreon-associated email or username).
- Ticket Listing Information: If you sell tickets, you provide details such as event name, date, venue, section, row, seat numbers, quantity, asking price, ticket type, description, and may upload images of tickets.
- Vouch Information: When you leave a vouch for another user, you provide feedback (positive/negative) and optional comments.
- Communications: Records and copies of your correspondence with us (e.g., support inquiries).
- Report Information: If you report another user or listing, you provide details about the reported content or user.
1.2. Information We Collect Automatically:
- Usage Details: Details of your access to and use of the HBTE Platform, including traffic data, location data, logs, and other communication data and the resources that you access and use.
- Device Information: Information about your computer or mobile device and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, browser type, and device identifiers.
1.3 Cookies
We use cookies sparingly. Here is every one of them.
Signing you in. These remember that you are logged in as you move between pages. Without them you would have to sign in again on every click.
Preventing ban evasion. One cookie, named hbtix_did, lets us recognise a browser that was used by an account we removed. It holds a random ID and nothing else — no name, no email, nothing that describes you. We store only a scrambled copy of that ID, so what sits in our database cannot be turned back into the cookie in your browser. We use it to prevent fraud and for nothing else. It never feeds advertising. We never share it, and no other company can read it. It lasts two years, or until you clear your browser's cookies.
Those two kinds are necessary to run this platform safely, so we do not ask permission for them.
Measuring how the site is used. We use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit and how they found us. This sets cookies from Google and sends Google information about your visit, including your IP address. We use it to improve the site, not to identify you. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on, or by blocking these cookies in your browser. Everything else here works normally either way.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for various purposes, including:
- To Provide and Maintain the HBTE Platform: To operate, deliver, and improve our services, including user accounts, ticket listings, and Browse functionality.
- To Personalize Your Experience: To display relevant information to you and personalize content based on your activity.
- To Facilitate Fan-to-Fan Interactions: To enable users to browse listings, view user profiles, and use the Vouch system.
- To Enhance Trust and Safety: To calculate and display Trust Levels, manage the Vouch system, investigate reported issues, and help mitigate fraud.
- To Communicate with You: To send you service-related notifications, updates, or administrative messages.
- For Analytics and Research: To understand how users interact with our platform, track usage patterns, and improve our services.
- To Enforce our Terms: To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Use or Community Guidelines.
- To detect fraud, and to stop members we have removed from returning under a new account.
3. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information as follows:
3.1. With Other Users of the HBTE Platform:
- Your chosen username/display name will always be visible to other users.
- Your Trust Level and Vouch history (including comments and the username of the vouch giver) will be visible on your profile.
- If you choose to provide your Discord username in your profile, this may be visible to other users.
- If you post a ticket listing, the details of that listing (event, price, section, description, images) will be visible to all users.
- Your email address is generally NOT directly displayed to other users on the platform unless explicitly disclosed by you through other means (e.g., in a public comment). However, users may be able to communicate with you through private messaging features if implemented by HBTE.
3.2. With Third Parties (At Our Discretion):
- We reserve the right to provide your email address and other collected personal information to third parties at our discretion. This may include, but is not limited to, law enforcement, government agencies, or other third parties in response to legal processes (such as subpoenas or court orders), to protect our rights or the rights of others, to investigate potential violations of our Terms of Use, or to help prevent fraud.
- We may share aggregated or anonymized data (which cannot be used to identify you personally) with third parties for analytics, research, or marketing purposes.
- We may share your information with service providers who perform services on our behalf (e.g., hosting providers, analytics providers). These service providers are obligated to protect your information and may only use it for the purposes for which it was shared.
- 3.3. Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
4. Data Security
We implement reasonable measures designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage is ever 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your personal information.
5. Your Choices and Rights
- 5.1. Account Information: You can access and update certain profile information through your account settings on the HBTE Platform.
- 5.2. Email Communications: We may send service-related emails. You may not opt-out of essential service-related communications.
- 5.3. Data Retention: We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
- 5.4 Cookies and Fraud Prevention: You can clear cookies at any time in your browser, and you can opt out of Google Analytics as described in 1.3. You cannot opt out of the sign-in and ban-evasion cookies. They are what keep this platform usable and safe, and an opt-out on the second one would hand it straight to the people it exists to stop. We keep a record of the addresses and browsers used to sign in to each account. If you delete your account, we remove your name and email from that record. We keep the record itself. This is deliberate: without it, anyone removed from the platform could return by deleting their account and signing up again. You can ask us what we hold about you using the details in section 8, and we will tell you. We may keep fraud-prevention records after a deletion request, because removing them would defeat their only purpose.
6. Children's Privacy
The HBTE Platform is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.
7. Changes to Our Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the HBTE Platform after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
8. Contact Information
